For Hope Jones, volleyball has been more than just a sport—it has been a journey of growth, perseverance, and opportunity. As a Middle Blocker committed to Nelson University, she reflects on her path from starting volleyball in 7th grade to playing at the collegiate level after two years with Houston Force Volleyball Club.

Hope’s decision to attend Nelson University was fueled by its highly competitive volleyball program, strong Christian values, and renowned business program, aligning perfectly with both her athletic and academic aspirations. Choosing a university is a major step for any athlete, but Hope knew she had found the right fit.

The recruitment process wasn’t always easy. Starting late made it overwhelming at first, but with the support of her parents, coaches, and recruiter, she gained the knowledge and confidence to navigate the process. Their guidance helped her understand what universities seek in an athlete, making each step more manageable.

Hope credits her parents as her biggest supporters, expressing deep gratitude for their unwavering encouragement. Their belief in her abilities kept her motivated, and she appreciates how they helped her stay grounded throughout her volleyball journey.

For younger athletes looking to play at the next level, Hope shares this advice: “Set short- and long-term goals, believe in yourself, and start your recruiting early.” Taking control of the process and staying committed to personal development will set the foundation for future success.

As she prepares for the next chapter at Nelson University, Hope looks forward to competing at the collegiate level and making an impact both on and off the court. Her journey is a testament to hard work, resilience, and the power of unwavering support.
