Chasing Her Dreams: Alanna’s Volleyball Journey to Collegiate Volleyball

Volleyball is more than just a game for Alanna it’s a journey that began with simple neighborhood games and has evolved into an exciting future at the collegiate level. Introduced to the sport at a young age by her parents and through neighborhood games at the YMCA, Alana quickly developed a passion for volleyball. What started as casual play soon grew into a deep love for the competition, structure, and sisterhood that the sport offers.

Determined to continue her volleyball career, Alanna embarked on the recruiting process with patience and persistence. Though it started slowly, she learned the importance of constantly reaching out to coaches and trusting the process without stressing. Her hard work and dedication paid off, leading her to choose MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) as her future home. MNU stood out to her not only for its strong academic offerings but also for its close-knit community and faith-based program that aligns with her values. The welcoming environment created by the coaches made her feel wanted and solidified her decision.

As Alanna looks forward to her college volleyball career, she’s excited about the new opportunities and experiences that await her, including bonding with teammates from around the world and growing both as an athlete and as a person. Her goals for college extend beyond the court. She aims to make a positive impact in her community, pursue opportunities to study abroad and continue her education in the medical field. These aspirations reflect her desire to develop during her time in college. Through it all, her dad, who coached her in her younger years, and her family have been her biggest supporters, teaching her to believe in herself no matter what.

As Alanna prepares to take the next step in her volleyball journey, there’s no doubt that her passion, dedication, and strong support system will guide her to success both on and off the court.
